Ready your level 100 characters, protectors of Sanctuary. Diablo 4's Abattoir of Zir endgame seasonal event is coming in hot to give you the biggest challenge yet!

In this guide, we will share all the details of Diablo 4 Abbattior of Zir, including its release date, the event's location to get started, the very high requirements to enter, and the powerful rewards, including a Unique Glyph to add to your Paragon Board, so let's leap in!

Diablo 4 Abattoir of Zir Release Date

The official release date for Diablo 4's Abattoir of Zir seasonal event is 5 December 2023 for those in the US and 6 December 2023 for those in Europe, with the latter getting access early in the morning.

This forms part of Diablo 4 Patch 1.2.3, which will also add an Enchanting Preview feature to the Occultist crafting vendor, allowing you to see the possible affixes before spending your hard-earned gold and materials.

Location of Abattoir of Zir in Diablo 4

From the BlizzCon 2023 presentation, we know that the Abattoir of Zir will be located in Diablo 4's Dry Steppes region. Specifically, as you can see from the image above, the portal to the Abattoir of Zir is placed in the city of Ked Bardu.

Abattoir of Zir Requirements & Rewards

Abattoir of Zir is an endgame event dubbed as being "highly replayable" by the developers (think Greater Rifts). The requirements are super steep, as you will have to reach level 100 (max level), slay Uber Durial, and complete the Season's Journey for Diablo 4 Season of Blood. Blizzard explains:

Also starting on December 5 is Abattoir of Zir, a highly replayable six-week end-game event experience designed for players who have reached Level 100, slain Uber Duriel, and mastered all the other challenges Season of Blood has to offer. Those who survive will attain a Paragon Glyph constructed from Lord Zir’s very own blood. But beware—the Abattoir of Zir starts at a soul-crushing difficulty and only gets harder.

Apart from all the high-level item drops you will get (likely a bunch of item level 925 Rare and Legendary equipment), players will also be able to get and upgrade the extremely powerful Tears of Blood Glyph as a reward. This is the first Unique Glyph in Diablo 4, as you can see from the image below. Its radius increases at level 50, which means you will have to grind the Abattoir of Zir quite a lot to make Tears of Blood even more powerful.

It is unclear if the Unique or even Uber Unique drop rates will be higher in Abattoir of Zir compared to Nightmare Dungeons and endgame bosses, but it would make sense for this highly challenging endgame activity for Diablo 4 players who can kill Duriel.

While you wait for the Abattoir of Zir release date or continue to grind in Season of Blood to level up, check out the developer video from BlizzCon 2023 explaining this new, tough-as-nails endgame activity below.

That's everything Diablo 4 players need to know about the Abattoir of Zir endgame activity, including its release date, huge requirements to participate, location, and the biggest reward you can receive.
